FOR THE PRESS AND PUBLIC OPINION
Kurdish poetry, Kurdish literature, Kurdish language, Kurdish culture, and Kurdish dance, regardless of religion! For a long time, Kurdish language and culture have been attacked in every way, from dances, songs and poems, and people are being arrested and tortured for this. We know very well that these are not arbitrary and unjustified things. These are being done within the framework of a dirty concept, within the framework of an assimilating mentality and a concept based on the genocide of the Kurds.
Today, we learned that in the T-type prison, two prisoners, Enes İlgen and Serdar Başaran, have been sentenced to 11 days in solitary confinement due to the poetry and lyrics of Kurdish songs in their pens.
We, as the Association for the Study of Culture, History and Literature or in the language of SOZDER, define this as cultural genocide and the genocide of social memory and declare that we in no way accept these acts of disregard for Kurdish memory, Kurdish literature, Kurdish language and culture, and we will raise the Kurdish voice, Kurdish poetry, Kurdish literature, Kurdish language and Kurdish culture under all circumstances.
